What We Believe...
Our
Beliefs
GOD
God revealed Himself to humans through the triune nature of the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit. God is an eternal being whose nature is
unchangeable. He is all knowing, all powerful, and ever present. He is
the creator of all that is, and desires a close, personal relationship
with humanity, as a father has with his children.
THE
BIBLE
The Bible is the inspired, infallible word of God. The 66 books of the
Bible are the basis of all our beliefs, decisions, and purposes. The
Bible is from the mind of God, is true and is the final authority by
which all matters of faith and practice should be informed. It offers
love, joy and hope to all people as it reveals God's will for us and
the many wonderful dimensions of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
JESUS
Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, is the second personality of
the eternal God and came to earth to seek and save the lost. He is
fully God and was, at the same time, fully human. His nature was
revealed through the miraculous conception and virgin birth. Jesus
lived a perfect life in full obedience to the Father and humbled
Himself by voluntarily being killed on a cross for the atonement of all
who would believe in Him. He rose from the dead and thus defeated the
last stronghold of the enemy -- death -- and thereby granted all the
saved a spiritual victory over death.
His death, burial and resurrection form the cornerstone of our faith
and give us the reason to proclaim that good news to all people. Jesus,
ruling and reigning at the right hand of God, represents the power and
the majesty of God the Creator and Lord of all the earth. He has been
gracious to us and offers us salvation if we in faith respond to His
grace.
HOLY
SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the third personality of the eternal God. He has
been active in this world since it was created. His primary function is
to apply the word of God in this world. He inspired the writers of the
Bible. He lives in every Christian to help them be people of high
character.
SALVATION
While the relationship that humanity had with God in the Garden of Eden
was the original intent of God, mankind rebelled and has been separated
from God through sin. Sin brought a corrupt nature to humanity
spiritually, physically and relationally, thus leaving us incapable of
self-remedy. The remedy is to be found solely in God. Salvation is
offered and granted to anyone who, by his or her free will, accepts
God's free gift through a repentant heart and obedient faith in Jesus
Christ. That faith saves a person at the time of his or her baptism
(immersion in water). Through baptism one enters into the death, burial
and resurrection of Jesus, and the power of Jesus' blood is applied to
forgive his or her sins.
Our Lifestyle
We are committed to the highest standards of moral and ethical
integrity in our personal lives.
Our Desires
We will honor God and offer up to Him worship and praise that reflects
our joy and adoration and that uplifts and encourages both members and
guests; we will serve each other and the community.
We include men and women from all walks of life. Because the gospel is
for all, we will not construct any cultural, economic, marital, gender
or age barrier in fulfilling our mission.
We recognize in every person a precious soul and willingly give of
ourselves in ministry to others to help them discover God's will for
them. We desire that every person have a complete understanding of
God's amazing love and forgiveness. We also desire for each believer to
continually grow in relationship with God, thus becoming a fully
devoted follower of our Lord.
We will share the power of Jesus Christ by word and deed, using
appropriate innovative approaches to effectively tell the good deeds to
each other, our families, friends, the community and the world. We pray
that the influence of God's Spirit will continually work through all
believers to bring unity, truth and a growing community dedicated to
bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to the Oklahoma City area.
